These carriers are based on the traditional Mei Tai. However, I have made some construction changes that make them stronger, easier to wear for longer periods, and so that they provide more support for the growing child. The color combinations available are always changing. I can also do custom orders, if you have something specific you would like.
Front Carry Instructions:
1. Grab the short straps.
2. With the print side hanging down, facing your knees, tie the short straps flat and snugly against your waist in the back, using a double knot.3. Pick up your child and cuddle against your chest. Small infants will pull their legs up under themselves in the “froggy legs” position. Larger children should let their legs hang to either side of your stomach. While holding your child with one hand against you, pull the carrier up behind your child with the other.
4. Reach around and hold the carrier against your child. Flip the long straps over your shoulders, one on each side. While still holding your child with your left hand hand, reach around and pull one long strap across your back with your right. While holding the strap in the right hand, support your child in the carrier and reach around for the other strap with your left hand.
5. The long straps should now go up over your shoulders, criss-cross over your back, and come back down around your chest. If you have a small infant, adjust carefully and then tie the straps behind the child’s back in a double-knot. If you have a slightly larger child, you may wish to bounce a bit to ensure you are both settled comfortably with the child’s legs hanging out from either side of the carrier before tying the straps behind the child’s back.
